In the realm of public safety, Summit County police and fire departments are implementing AI for non-emergency calls to improve efficiency. This initiative, which encompasses 11 police and eight fire departments, features an AI system named Ava, which collects caller information and analyzes inquiries, allowing human operators to focus on emergencies. David O'Neal, director of the Summit Emergency Communications Center, stated that AI's ability to recognize keywords will ensure timely transfers to human dispatchers when necessary.
