Hadrian, a California-based advanced manufacturing firm, has announced the successful completion of a $260 million Series C funding round aimed at enhancing its manufacturing and research capabilities with new AI-powered facilities. This round was notably led by prominent investors including Founders Fund, Lux Capital, and Morgan Stanley.
A substantial portion of the funding, $200 million, will go towards the construction of a 270,000-square-foot facility in Mesa, Arizona, expected to create around 350 jobs in the local area. This facility, referred to as Factory 3, will focus on software-driven production of precision components and critical systems. Additionally, Hadrian plans to establish a new corporate headquarters stretching 400,000 square feet, which will primarily support research and development efforts, aiming to result in thousands of new job opportunities.
Both facilities are projected to be operational by January 2026 and will utilize Hadrian's advanced proprietary software stack, Opus, designed for rapid production deployment. The company is also launching a new division, Hadrian Maritime, that will apply its autonomous factory model to the shipbuilding and naval defense sectors, with future expansions into munitions and uncrewed aerial systems. Chris Power, Hadrian's CEO, highlighted the significance of this investment in fostering American leadership in advanced manufacturing and supporting job growth in the field.
