The Catalyst series debuted on the Evanston campus in Spring 2023, drawing more than 120 participants across its five workshops. Attendees learn to prototype their ideas faster and implement smarter marketing strategies using generative and no-code/low-code AI tools. Notable success stories include Katia Shek, a student who developed a language-learning startup, Lex, benefitting from workshop insights to create a prototype in just 24 hours.
In response to the program's popularity, the Garage has expanded the series to the Chicago campus, particularly focusing on medical applications. Participants like Karen Gutzman have applied workshop learnings to develop AI-enhanced tools for analysis in the medical research sector, promising to unveil new patterns in substantial datasets, thus enhancing collaboration and funding opportunities.
